In addition to mechanicals, storage and laundry facilities, the lower level features an apartment / suite, which previously served as Owners’ Quarters (OQ) prior to the construction of new OQ.  It is currently the residence for the head housekeeper.  This suite is comprised of a kitchen area, bedroom and a living room space.

Another lower level room is set up as a meeting room, and has the size to support business meetings, special purpose meetings (e.g. scrapbooking) or other special events such as a Weekend Cooking School or Spa Weekends.

New Owners’ Quarters now exist in a 2-story structure built adjacent to the Inn, with a sunroom attaching the structures.  These OQ are accessible from either the Inn’s lower level or directly from the outside.  Only three years old and comprised of approximately 1500 ft², this OQ has spectacular views of the lake from most rooms, but especially from the bedroom and upper level living room.  On a clear day the tallest Chicago buildings (John Hancock & Sears Tower) are visible across the southern end of Lake Michigan.
