quiet Cove on the coast of Maine,
just an hour’s drive from Portland.

of Maine). There is no
traffic
noise to compete with the music of the sea. What you'll hear is the
distant
thunder of surf crashing into the rocky coast. A spectacular,
mesmerizing view
of the open ocean pierced by the Peninsula
below. What
you'll experience is serenity.

Each of the four Guest rooms is equipped
with queen beds, two
person whirlpool baths, a 4 season fireplace, cable television, VCR, CD
player,
DVD player, refrigerator, microwave, in room coffee and all Guests
receive the
Hot Buffet Breakfast. In one room, the private entrance opens out into
a small
courtyard, which is convenient for people who travel with pets. The
owner’s
quarters consist of a spacious 2 bedroom suite.
The Rose Garden>
Also a major attraction at the Inn
is
the "floating" four-section rose garden. The innkeepers' gardener
refers to this garden as "floating" because it is "raised"
above a solid granite ledge. Nine hundred square feet of the ancient
granite
ledge has been excavated and left exposed so that guest and visitors
could be
"awed" by the fascinating ledge outcroppings which geologist estimate
to be between 380 and 450 million years old. The "Bucksport Ledge" on
the island predates the formation of the Atlantic Ocean.

The floating rose garden features 75
beautiful hybrid tea
and floribunda roses in an exquisite range of colors. Many of David
Austin
antique roses and the patented varieties have been especially
hybridized to
withstand Maine's harsh
winters.
In addition to the 75 roses in the "floating" meditation garden there
are 80 rugosa roses and over 200 other perennials and countless
annuals. The
gardens are popular as a beautiful backdrop for weddings and receptions.

Ocean Observatory
Guest and the public alike are also invited
to ascend the 55
steps up to the ocean observatory. The view is "on the house," so to
speak, as the ocean observatory (50' up) is a "house on a house" with
11 windows that enable a 360-degree view of not only the surrounding
gardens
but also the Bay and the Gulf
of Maine
clear out to Monhegan Island
over the top of the Peninsula.

This
Inn is a perfect getaway to use
as a home base for day trips to an endless list of exciting
destinations and
activities available on the coast of
Maine.>
